Life’s too short to blog every job (or even most of them), but some are just too good not to share! Take this page as a collection of favourites, posted as and when time allows…

Keswick Mountain Festival 2015

The Keswick Mountain Festival has to be one of my very favourite events of the year! I've been shooting it for the last six years (aside from last year, which I unfortunately missed), and it's been brilliant watching it grow from fairly humble beginnings, into the stunning event that it is today.

The festival has a little bit of everything, and definitely something for everyone that has even a passing interest in outdoor sports or lifestyle. The range of activities on offer is staggering: if you want to try something new then there are come and try sessions in anything from walking to ice-climbing, or for those with a more competitive spirit there's everything from a sportive, open water swimming, triathalons and fell races ranging from 5km to ultra-marathons, all set against some of the finest scenery in the area.

Add loads of family based events and activities, a few cracking bands (Peatbog Faeries, Seth Lakeman, Dodgy...) and you've got the perfect weekend away for the more active family. Oh, and a hell of a weekend for an events photographer!

Myself and Keswick based Stuart Holmes split the schedule between us to try and cover as much of the weekend as possible, though it's impossible to be everywhere at once. I'm currently uploading literally stacks of photos from the weekend to the client, but thought I'd share a few favourites with you here... A few because they capture the day nicely, and a few others just because of the banter that I had with the people along the way. At the end of the day, it's the people that these events attract that really make them so successful.

Yeah, definitely one of my favourite events of the calendar... Roll on next year!
